The Straight-Arm Lat Pulldown Exercise is a great way to build strength, mobility and muscle control in your lats, for a more powerful golf swing.
The Straight-Arm Lat Pulldown Exercise forms part of the Golf Strength and Endurance series of innovative and dynamic exercises that are designed to efficiently increase your stabilising strength – supporting proper body alignment, movement patterns, and energy transfer within the golf swing, and helping to prevent injuries.
This exercise requires a resistance band or tubing, ideally with a lat bar or dowel connected. Alternatively, you could use a cable machine.

- Start by standing tall in perfect posture, feet hip-width apart. Hold a resistance band with both hands, in a wide grip, that is anchored above and in front of you.
- Keeping your arms straight, pull your hands down until your arms are near your sides.
- Slowly return to the starting position.
- Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
Try to limit any movement to your arms.
Keep your chest up, your shoulder blades pulled back and down, and your abdominal muscles engaged throughout.
You should feel it working your lats and the backs of your shoulders.
